Funds 💠Polestar Capital announced the launch of the biggest circular economy fund in Europe. The fund has opened at €100M, and expects to grow to €400M within a year and will extend loans to innovative Dutch circular economy projects, thereby facilitating finance that is urgently required but hard to obtain elsewhere.

ETH researchers have now shown that shared micromobility solutions in Zurich emit more CO2 emissions than the alternatives they replace. Learn more about this research.

CommerzVentures released its second report on Climate FinTech that provides a quantitative overview by analyzing funding dynamics across geographies, sub-sectors and company stages. Through bottom-up research in databases, relevant publications, and based on information CommerzVentures received from founders, it identified 292 Climate FinTechs across Europe and North America with scalable business models (ie. “VC cases”).

Releases 🔋 electricityMap, a startup computing the origin of electricity and its associated emissions just added the USA to its electricity live map. 📄 The New Climate Institute released its Corporate Climate Responsibility Monitor (CCRM) report. The firms analysed account for 5% of global greenhouse-gas emissions, the report says - which means although they have a huge carbon footprint, they have enormous potential to lead in the effort to limit climate change.

Milestones 🛵 Dutch e-mobility giant, GO Sharing brings 500 new e-mopeds to Rome making mobility even more sustainable in the Italian capital. This follows the company’s announcement in December 2021 to take the majority stake of Zig Zag Sharing.

🔍 Katapult Climate has now opened applications for its Climate Accelerator Program. Katapult is looking for 10 ocean and 10 climate impact tech startups to join its 2022 accelerator program. The program will invest $150k - $500k upfront and will invite all the 20 companies to a 3 months accelerator program.


🏆 Imperial College London is an Official Nominator - one of +300 partners from around the world who will submit nominations to the prestigious Earthshot Prize. The college is looking for individuals, communities, businesses, and organizations whose solutions make the most progress towards achieving the five Earthshots – simple but ambitious goals that, if achieved by 2030, will improve life for us all for generations to come.


💰 New funding opportunity for Net Zero small businesses and start-ups in the UK.

Innovate UK has launched an SBRI competition for innovators working on open solutions for Net Zero, Organisations can apply for a share of £1.2M. Get up to £300k for solutions that help to deliver Net Zero through open data, software, or hardware.
